The White House recently announced another delay in the employer mandate under the Affordable Care Act. The delay is, in part, an effort to make the compliance process easier for employers, and will be in effect until 2015. If you are like most businesses the mandate will not impact you at all. The Affordable Care Act has undergone some additional changes, and now up to 96% of America’s employers do not have to provide coverage or fill out paperwork at all. If your small business has less than 50 employees then you are in the clear. If your small business has more than 50 employees then it may be a good idea to make 2014 your year to get a legal check-up. Make sure that any existing insurance coverage that you may offer is in compliance with the Affordable Care Act, and take the time to look over your options if it is not.
